Cooperation Spanish brand and German auto giant began on 30 September 1982.

By agreement of the parties, the brand SEAT began producing popular models Polo and Passat in Spain. A year later, in 1983, along with the production of Volkswagen SEAT company began producing a new compact hatchback Ibiza. Novelty was the proprietary brand using technology concern Volkswagen. A miniature model quickly became one of the most popular brand, embodying the character of Spanish and German collections.

In 1990, the Spanish brand is fully part of the German company. Thanks to the bright unusual design, high performance cars and the support of major concern SEAT actively increasing its geographical presence not only in Europe but also in Asia and America.
